Junior Gradings (Novice to 18th Mon)
As from 1 April 2008 all junior gradings will be non-competitive however areas will be able to continue on the current system until at least the 30 June 08 and areas can apply for an extension to that date if they events planned in July/Aug. The technical exams will include basic technique and performance applications, there is also a structure progressive randori element where at the lower grades randori will be quite light, whereas at the higher grades randori will be require more open skills. Additionally there are choices on technique that can be made by coaches and candidates so that we do not lose our originality and allow Judoka to focus on specific and specialist skills. There will also be a great degree of quality control so that we can maintain a National Standard.

Technical Gradings can be held either in Clubs or at Area gradings using a format where within the club if they do not have the appropriate examiner, area will be able to supply a visiting examiner. The exams will be user friendly for the Coach/candidate and examiner with the minimum of paperwork.
